- On August 26, 2026, Shopify auto-upgraded the Thank you and Order status pages on every Basic, Shopify and Advanced store. Code in the Additional Scripts box — Google Ads, Meta pixel, GTM, affiliate tags — stopped executing. Checkout itself kept working, so the breakage is silent.

- Non-Plus Shopify merchants who tracked conversions with pasted scripts.
- Official migration path
- Re-implement tracking with Web Pixels (Customer Events), app pixels or Checkout UI Extensions.
- What the official path does not cover
- Nothing in the admin flags the dead scripts. Symptom: GA4/Meta/Google Ads purchase counts dropped around Aug 26 while Shopify orders did not. Cyber Week (Nov 27–30) is when ad accounts starved of conversion data underperform.
